Louis Anquetin

(Étrépagny 1861 – Paris 1932)

A major figure in the development of modern art, Louis Anquetin was a close friend of Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, accompanying him to the cabarets in Montmartre. He also became friendly with Vincent van Gogh who left a lasting influence with his feeling for colour and his collection of Japanese prints that he showed to the younger artist.
